Bondage Review: Halloween Pumpkin Ball Gag by Geeky Sex Toys

I purchased this product directly from the Geeky Sex Toys website with my own money. This is not a sponsored post but it does contain affiliate links.
You can purchase The Halloween Pumpkin Ball Gag via the Geeky Sex Toys website for $50AUD.

My girlfriend and I ordered matching Halloween Pumpkin Ball Gags on our drive back from Celebrating Sexuality last year because we’re romantic but also goth af. I’d originally planned to release this review on Halloween this year but my macbook charger had other plans, so enjoy this slightly-belated-but-still-spooky review…

Sex and art are probably my two favourite things, so when artists I love and sex toy brands I love collaborate I get very excited! Having followed @the_smut_peddler (formally @steamedflowers0) on Instagram since I was at university, seeing her artwork made real by the talented team at Geeky Sex Toys was pretty magical.

This gag was inspired by the work of @the_smut_peddler

First Impressions

It’s honestly pretty shocking that this is the first gag review I’ve done. I have a special love of gags which has seen me amass more than 15 of them over the years – which is quite a lot for someone who only has one mouth. For context, I am comfortable wearing gags, often for extended periods of time and am very partial to some good ol’ drooly fun times.

Like all of my Geeky Sex Toy pieces, the Halloween Pumpkin Ball Gag comes with an appropriately-themed storage bag (this one is black with neon orange drawstrings) which I recommend holding onto because the silicone does grab dust easier than my harder rubber gags. The straps are very sturdy but soft and made from PU leather which means it vegan-friendly while still being very comfortable to wear. The hardware is a silver-coloured zinc alloy and I’ve found it to be high quality and durable during more intense situations.

In Play

I’ve used the Halloween Pumpkin Ball Gag several times over the past year, often during sexting or themed scenes where it’s grown-up Wednesday Addams aesthetic is appt. It’s perfectly functional as a smaller ball gag. I find it doesn’t overstretch my jaw or dig into the sides of my mouth like other gags I’ve used and the medium density silicone has some give which is a refreshingly different feel to harder gags I own. I do worry about literally biting into it sometime – however, it’s important to note that I am yet to.

My only criticism of this toy is that the stork on top. While really really cute, it sits right behind my front teeth and jabs my gums. The silicone is soft and squishy so it’s not painful but I can see it becoming irritating over a longer period of time. I think the design would function just as well without it but I definitely would not write off the whole toy because of it.

In terms of cleaning, because the gag itself is silicone you can just use soap and warm water to clean it and it can be sterilised with antibacterial cleaners like Viraclean. The detail of the pumpkin’s face can catch dirt and fluids so be sure to check that it’s clear. I would also advise cleaning this toy before use, even if it’s been stored in it’s bag as it does tend to pick up a fair bit of dust and lint.

Final Thoughts

This gag’s greatest strength is its visual impact. I’ve seen Sian Brigid use hers for an amazing photoshoot, it makes for a great selfie prop for seasonal sexting and I love the element of fun or surprise it can add to a scene. It’s not my go-to ballgag but it is in no way trying to be. With strong aesthetics and enough functionality to back it up, I’d happily recommend the Halloween Pumpkin Ball Gag any time of year!

If you’re a big gag fan like myself, Geeky Sex Toys had a whole Ball Gag Week this year and you can check out the super cute and nerdy goodies on their website.
